1.) How do I pick the correct lift?
Picking the lift that will suit your wants and needs can be a trying task but, not to worry we have the staff and expertise to help you select the correct application.
Model 1000-5000
Our TV lift models are designed to easily travel from a cabinet, wall, or floor. They have the capability to move and retract smoothly and with minimal noise. For any of our lift’s you will need to know the height of your TV.
For example a 42” plasma TV may have the height of 27”. In this case, you would choose a lift that is equal or greater than the height of your TV – Model 2000 would be your best option.
Model 1000-5000 R
The R lift model’s have the ability to rotate your TV as well as all the other function of the original model.
Model ADL-100
The ADL model lifts have the ability to drop down from locations above the work/living area. These lifts can drop down from an attic, fire place drop down, book shelf drop down. We can easily create a specialized drop down lift to meet your needs.
2.) Can I set the travel limits of the lift?
Yes, using the hand held programmer (which is included with each lift), you can set the upper and lower travel limits on your lift. Once you set the limits, your TV will only travel between the limits you use as your set points. Be sure to store the programmer in a convenient spot to ensure you can change the set points with ease.
3.) What if none of the model lift’s meet my individual needs?
No problem. Our design engineers have over 35+ years of experience in designing and building custom automation systems. You can be confident that we will deliver a system that will meet and exceed all your expectations. Simply contact us with the particulars of your application and we will take care of the rest.
4.) Do I need to worry about which make or model TV I use?
No, not at all. All the lifts come with a universal mounting system that is fully adjustable making it easy to accept any bolt pattern found on the back of your flat panel TV whether it is Plasma or LCD.
5.) Can I change my TV to another at a later date?
Yes, you may. Again, just double check that the height of your new TV and make certain it’s not greater than the travel stroke of your current lift.
6.) Do I have to use LCD or a Plasma TV?
No although, Plasma and LCD are by far the most commonly used TV’s. We can, with the correct configuration, lift not only regular TV’s but bar’s, beds, and wood boxes. We leave the imagination up to you; leave the possibility up to us. Let us exceed your lift expectations.
7.) Do I get a remote control to activate my lift?
We have available to our customers
4 different methods of activating the tv lift.
•
RF or Radio Frequency is very much like a garage door opener. It is not line-of-sight which means the signal will travel through walls and you need not point it at the TV to make it work.
•
IR or Infra-Red works like the remote control on your TV, it is line-of-sight and it needs to be pointed at our receiver. When this option is ordered you get the receiver and then you need to program your Universal remote Control to LEARN the “codes” that operate the lift. For this you can refer to our “Installers Corner” for detailed instructions.
•
LV or Low Voltage, all of our lifts come standard with this option. The LV option is commonly used with Home Automation Systems such as Crestron, AMX and Control 4 to name a few. You simply assign a set of contacts to OPEN and CLOSE causing the lift to go up/down.
•
LS or Load Sensor, this option allows you to activate the lift through the operation of your TV. If the TV is turned ON the lift goes up, when turned OFF the lift goes down.
RS232 is also available.
8.) What about safety?
Safety by far is the most important factor when choosing a lifting system. All of our lifts come standard with a “FLOATING-LID” mechanism. The purpose and operation of this system is to ensure that while using our system your TV and those around the lift stay safe and out of harms way.
In an application where there is a lid attached to the top of the lift, the ‘lid’ rides on the floating lid mechanism. For example, if an object is in the way of the lid as it retracting to the close position, the floating lid will disengage the ‘lid’ from the lift as it continues to travel downwards.
This doesn’t mean it may not hurt as you will be bearing the weight of the ‘lid’, 10-20 lbs. it simply means you will not have the driving force of a motor coming down on your hand. Slip your hand out and gravity will place the lid back in place. We want to stress to our customers that the intellaLIFT is NOT a toy and is to be used responsibly with common sense and care.
ALWAYS observe the lift prior to operating to ensure that no person or object is in the way.
i.e. cabinet, half wall etc the “lid” rides on the floating lid mechanism. If someone’s hands are in the way of the lid as it is being retracted to the close position the floating lid will disengage the lid from the lift as it continues to travel downwards, refer to the technical drawings for details.
This doesn’t mean it may not hurt as you will be bearing the weight of the lid, 10-20 lbs. or whatever the case may be. It simply means you will not have the driving force of a motor coming down on your hand. Slip your hand out and gravity will place the lid back in place.

ALWAYS observe the lift prior to operating to ensure that no person is in the way so as not to possibly cause them any harm.
Lastly, if you purchase within the IntellaLIFT family of lifts, you will have the ABB feature on your SMARTBOX. This Auto Bounce Back feature is where we monitor for obstruction electronically and if encountered we STOP and REVERSE the lift.
9.) What about general maintenance for the lift?
This is good news for you, our lifts are maintenance free, no oiling or greasing is required.
10.) How often can I operate the lift?
Our lifts have a 10% duty cycle. This means if the lift takes 5 seconds to go up,
5 sec x 10 = 50 seconds, you should wait 50 seconds before driving it down. If you stay within the 10% duty cycle of the lift, although we don’t recommend it, you can operate it all day long.
11.) What is the warranty on your lifts?
All of our products have a 5 YEAR WARRANTY.
12.) Can I purchase directly from the factory?
We are in the midst of setting up the North American distribution channels, as several provinces and states have yet to be covered, you are able to purchase directly from us. See our contact us page for details.
13.) Where do you ship from? To and what is the typical delivery times?
Currently we are shipping from the Eastern and Western coasts of the United Sates as well as Ontario in Canada. We do and have the ability to ship worldwide. As for delivery times they vary from 1 week to 4 weeks, depending on the model TV LIFT ordered.
